Re: All-American 25 QT Pressure Canner
I have a similar story. My wife and I went to a local thrift store, and I noticed an all american 15 qt. pressure canner sitting behind one of the counters. When I asked about it the lady said its not for sale. When I asked why, she said it was broken. She sait the gauge didn't work because it was not on zero. HAHA! I asked to speak to the manager, the manager said it had not been tested , but they would sell it to me for $35.. I bought it. It has worked perfectly ever time . I love it!!!! Retails for $200.00 , my price, $35.00

Re: All-American 25 QT Pressure Canner
I've got the model 930. It works fine, but it does not hold the number of jars they claim. They claim 19 pint jars or 14 quart jars in that model, but in reality you can only fit 17 pint jars and 12 quarts. It annoys me that they lie about the capacity. They claim it is based on older style jars. Maybe that's so, but it sounds like BS. It's also misleading to continue to advertise based on those alleged former jar sizes since modern Kerr and Ball jars will not fit to the capacity they claim. Most anyone buying one of their canners today is going to be buying the jars that are current on the market, not antique jars.
I'd rather have a stainless steel model in a similar capacity. Aside from that, I'm not altogether displeased with the All American Canner. |

This pressure cooker, I recovered from my Grandma's fruit cellar. The lid reads THE PRESSURE COOKER DENVER COLO. PAT.PENDING. no markings on the bottom, but stove scratches. This has a cute pot belly and nice Brass wingnut assemblies and Brass steam release valve. The pressure gauge is a little worn on top, but looks to be in great condition-inside it is printed JAS.P.MARSH & COMPANY Chicago. (There is "o.k." marked on the top in marker?)
